It does not directly participate in the cross-linking reaction of rubber, but through a rigorous mechanism of "pre stressing construction friction control thermal stability maintenance", ensures that the tire bead is embedded in the mold cavity in a zero deviation state within a millisecond window before vulcanization.
1、 Pre deformation compensation: constructing pre stress with "interference fit"
When the tire is vulcanized, the inflation and expansion of the capsule will generate a huge radial compression force on the tire bead. If the tire bead is in "line contact" with the mold during molding, it is highly likely to cause the tire bead to twist or seal poorly. The core function of the PP tire bead pad is to apply a precise pre deformation amount to the tire bead during the molding stage by utilizing its contour shaped outer arc surface. It pre presses the uncured triangular rubber into a slightly smaller curvature than the mold bead seat, forming a "prestressed" state. When the tire blank is inflated into the mold capsule, the tire bead will "press" against the inner wall of the mold outward under the rebound trend, thereby achieving a full circumference interference fit that has existed since the beginning of vulcanization, eliminating local suspension or virtual connection.
2、 Dynamic Balance of Interface Friction Coefficient
The relative motion control between the tire bead and the partition is crucial during the vulcanization transfer process. The inherent low surface energy characteristics of PP materials, combined with specific mirror polishing processes (Ra value controlled below 0.4 μ m), create a critical interface with "high static friction and low dynamic friction". When the forming drum is stationary, it can firmly adhere to the tire bead to prevent displacement; At the moment when the robotic arm grabs the tire blank into the mold, the smooth surface allows the tire bead to smoothly sink under the action of gravity, without producing "sticky rebound". This dynamic friction management is the key to preventing the "rubbing" or "deviation" caused by blockage when the tire bead is inserted into the mold.
3、 Maintaining dimensional rigidity in hot environments
The environment temperature and humidity in the vulcanization workshop are high, and ordinary material partitions are prone to thermal creep or moisture absorption expansion, resulting in thickness and size drift. Plastic tray uses high crystallinity copolymer polypropylene with a heat deformation temperature of up to 135 ℃ or above. In the thermal radiation environment around the vulcanizing machine, it can maintain micrometer level thickness tolerance stability without changing the positioning reference of the tire bead due to thermal expansion and contraction. This thermal stability ensures that even in long-term continuous production, the position of the first and 1000th tire beads can remain highly consistent, thereby ensuring the concentricity of the vulcanized tire beads.
4、 Design of stress release channel
In addition to the shape imitation, high-end PP tire bead separators are usually designed with subtle guide grooves or exhaust patterns on the edges. At the moment when the tire blank is pressed into the mold, these structures can guide the trapped air between the tire bead and the mold to be discharged, avoiding the "air cushion effect" caused by air compression that hinders the tire bead from fitting. At the same time, they can also accommodate trace amounts of rubber flash, preventing the accumulation of flash from increasing the thickness of the partition and affecting the next bonding accuracy.
