A new packaging product developed by a packaging technology company embeds a micro RFID chip in the plastic film production process. The chip can store detailed information such as drug production batch number, expiration date, manufacturer, and inspection report. At the same time, an encrypted QR code is printed on the packaging surface. Consumers or medical staff can quickly read the information and verify the authenticity of the drug through a dedicated terminal or mobile app. In addition, the packaging material is made of low temperature resistant and puncture resistant composite plastic material, which can adapt to extreme transportation environments ranging from -30 ℃ to 60 ℃, effectively protecting the stability of drugs, especially suitable for the packaging needs of special drugs such as biologics and vaccines.
The traceable packaging has been piloted in a vaccine production enterprise. Through RFID technology, the enterprise can monitor the temperature and location changes of vaccines during transportation in real time. Once an abnormality occurs, it will immediately trigger a warning to ensure vaccine quality and safety. ”The marketing manager of a packaging technology company introduced that the product has passed the ISO 15489 information traceability standard certification and will gradually be promoted to various pharmaceutical packaging fields such as oral and injectable drugs in the future. Industry experts point out that the popularization of customized packaging for traceable medical plastic accessories will promote the transformation of China's pharmaceutical supply chain from "passive supervision" to "active prevention and control", and further enhance the safety management level of the pharmaceutical industry.
