After three years of research and development, a biotechnology R&D team innovatively fused nano silver ions with polycarbonate materials at the molecular level. Through a special in-situ polymerization process, the antibacterial components were evenly distributed inside the material instead of on the surface coating, effectively avoiding the problem of antibacterial agent detachment during use. After testing by authoritative institutions, the new plastic has a high antibacterial rate of 99.9% against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and the antibacterial effect can maintain the entire product life cycle. At the same time, the material's cytotoxicity level reaches level 0, and the hemolysis rate is less than 0.5%, fully meeting the strict standards of medical materials.

In the clinical trial of a certain tertiary hospital, the incidence of infusion related infections in patients using a new type of antibacterial plastic syringe decreased by 62% compared to traditional products, and the effect far exceeded expectations. The director of a biotechnology product stated that the product has reached cooperation with more than 20 domestic medical device manufacturers, with an expected annual production capacity of 8000 tons, which can meet nearly 50% of the material needs of high-end medical devices in China. In addition, the team is also developing specialized antibacterial plastics for special fields such as dentistry and orthopedics, further expanding the application boundaries of the products and building a stronger "protective wall" for medical safety.
