Breaking through the high temperature! A new type of PTFE tube has been introduced to assist in the heat dissipation of new energy vehicle batteries
Recently, a leading domestic enterprise in special pipe materials, New Materials Technology, announced that its independently developed new high-temperature resistant ultra soft Teflon bellows has officially entered mass production. With its core advantage of exceeding 300 ℃ in temperature resistance, this product successfully solves the problem of high-temperature heat dissipation in new energy vehicle battery packs, providing key support for improving the safety performance of new energy vehicles and filling the gap in high-end high-temperature resistant Teflon corrugated pipe technology in China.
In scenarios such as fast charging and high-speed driving, the internal temperature of new energy vehicle battery packs is prone to rise above 200 ℃. Although traditional Teflon tubes have certain temperature resistance, they are prone to aging and cracking when exposed to high temperatures for a long time, leading to the failure of the cooling system and causing safety hazards. After two years of research and development, a new material technology R&D team innovatively added nano ceramic reinforcement particles to the PTFE substrate. Through molecular restructuring technology, the product's temperature resistance limit was increased from the traditional 260 ℃ to 320 ℃, while maintaining excellent insulation performance and flexibility. After testing by authoritative institutions, the new PTFE Corrugated Hose can work continuously for 1000 hours at a high temperature of 300 ℃, with a mechanical performance degradation rate of less than 5% and a breakdown voltage of over 60kV/mm, fully meeting the strict requirements for the use of new energy vehicle battery packs.
In a real vehicle test of a new energy vehicle company, a battery pack equipped with a new high-temperature resistant Teflon Bellows was tested. When quickly charged to 80% of its capacity, the highest internal temperature was controlled at 180 ℃, and the heat dissipation efficiency was increased by 40% compared to traditional products. The battery cycle life was extended by more than 200 times. ”The director of a new material technology product stated that the product has already established cooperation with multiple car companies such as BYD and NIO, with an annual production capacity of up to 3 million meters. It is expected to meet the cooling needs of 20% of new energy vehicle battery packs in China. In the future, companies will also develop specialized teflon hoses with higher temperature resistance and hydrogen permeation resistance in the field of hydrogen fuel cells for hydrogen powered vehicles, further expanding market boundaries.
